The Telecrapper 2000

This week we bring you a unique and entertaining example of how to deal with Telemarketers.  This is now more usefull than ever because I thought our telephone carriers told us that we would be getting rid of them.  I think I pay extra on my phone bill to get rid of them but they still keep calling.  Anyway the good folks at Telecrapper 2000 have designed a system for Telemarketer Payback.  Here is a bit of background from the Telecrapper site:

The Telecrapper 2000 (TC2K) is a computerized system designed to both intercept incoming Telemarketing calls on the first ring, and then carry on a virtual conversation with the telemarketer.  First the TC2K computer (any standard PC) is connected to the phone line via a Caller ID modem or serial Caller ID device. The user creates a setup text file that declares all of the Caller ID strings he considers "annoying" and wants intercepted on the first ring. When a call on the users "hit list" arrives, the computer intercepts the call and picks up the extension. This feature alone is very valuable. It gives the ability to identify legitimate calls anywhere in the house by simply waiting to hear a second ring.

Chris Talks to "Ethan Hunt"  And what is really funny is that the Telemarketer is obliously from some call center in India or Pakistan and calls himself "Ethan Hunt".  Does AT&T think that we are that stupid?  Oh wait I forgot "Hunt" is a traditional Pakastani name isn't it?  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.
